Developing a Thankful Heart

Developing a Thankful Heart.

be-thankful

November is the month of being thankful, but as believers, we know that this is not just on the third Thursday in November each year, but every day! 1 Thessalonians 5:8 goes a step further and instructs us to be thankful in everything. That’s just hard to do, isn’t it? Psalm 33 gives us some great insight into becoming thankful people.

“Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.”

We will continually struggle with thanking God until we first learn to fully trust Him. We will not be grateful to God for all that we have until we first recognize that we’re dependent on Him for all that we have. God is faithful, He loves righteousness and justice, and His abundant love is never ending.

As you learn to trust Him, you will be more thankful for everything that comes your way, because you recognize that your loving Father has allowed it to bless you or to strengthen your faith through trials.

Help your family see God’s faithfulness in every aspect of life and they will develop thankful hearts too.
