Pray for the Kingdom to Come in Your Teenager’s Life
You have probably memorized the Lord’s Prayer at some point in your life. Maybe even recited it or prayed it on a regular basis. When we ask God for His kingdom to come and for His will to be done, what are we really looking for? We are inviting God to reign as rightful King in our spiritual lives. We are willingly submitting to God’s purposes, plans, and His ultimate glory in our lives.
Can you pray this for someone else, like our teenagers? Well, we can’t make them submit to God. But when we see them making poor choices and know that they will experience consequences for those unbiblical decisions, we can pray that they will repent and bring their lives into God’s will. They were created to have a deep lasting relationship with their Maker. When they live in accordance to His Word, they will experience joy and peace that passes all understanding. Don’t you want that for your children? Ask You Father in heaven.
“After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)
And we need to regularly submit to God ourselves and model kingdom living before them. May Your will, Oh God, be accomplished in my life!
in His service,
Pastor Mark
